Float
In line with its mission, RANA successfully presented a float last year to highlight Rajasthani heritage. This year will be no different with a grand float being prepared for the parade.RANA’s float will celebrate the traditional festival of Gangore and feature a Rajasthani Chattari. The float is being put together by Shri Raj Nathawat. The dance is being choreographed by Smt. Sheela Pasi

Floats commemorate India’s cultural heritage and the achievements of Indian-Americans in the Bay Area. This year’s parade will be a huge spectacle and nearly 100,000 people are expected to be present on Sunday. So come early, and enjoy the great weather, some Indian food, and lots of Indian culture!

See you on Sunday. Don’t forget to stop by the RANA booth at the adjoining festival!

Visit by Abhishek Manu Singhvi

Monday, June 4th, 2007
RANA is pleased to host Honorary Abhishek Manu Singhvi, the current Member of Parliament, India. He was elected a member of the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan, is the spokesperson of All India Congress, and eminent jurist and lawyer at the Supreme Court of India. Mr. Singhvi is also the son of the renowned Mr. L. M. Singhvi, former Indian High Commissioner to the U. K.

Mr. Singhvi entered active politics to increase the participation of the educated class in stemming the current rot in Indian politics and to provide a counter balance to the culture of politico-criminalization of India. He has a wealth of experience with the Indian legal system and is a senior lawyer by profession.

We are very fortunate to host Mr. Singhvi for an evening and discuss various issues such as Indo-U.S. relationship, policies for Non-resident Indians, and various other matters.

Please RSVP online for an evening of up close interaction with this visiting dignitary.
